Jack Simonetta believes that working in more than one medium is the only way he can bring his widely diverse ideas into existence for others to enjoy. Oil painting allows him to express ideas more spontaneously. Starting with a defined vision, the process of putting paint to canvas often leads him in wildly different directions. “I never know where the final piece will end up,” he explains. “But the journey is always exciting and rewarding.” Jack’s mixed media pieces often include varied processes and materials such as papers, fabrics, threads and beads. The layering of these materials creates intricate details that invite the viewer to study each piece closely and delight in seeing the process.
