Ongoing exhibition
There is something strange and fantastical in Gary McCauley’s work. His pastels tell a story or often, several stories, with symbolic and at times bizarre imagery. His work reflects a child’s fascination with the world around them filtered through the eyes and memories of an adult. His recent work is a study of the pieces and parts that make up the whole. Little strips and shreds from his own memories layered and placed together in a collage of shapes, color, and textures to create a new story with old characters.
